Grail Cup and Stone

The Grail Cup and Stone:

alchemical recipe for distilling holy Wine

and forging eternal Gold.

~ 

Jonah is thrown overboard into death,

but is saved by God's instinctual Pet;

the Leviathan heats-up the process,

in the fiery belly of the furnace.

~

Here comes the Sun again!...

rising-up from unconscious dreams;

Salt of the sea heated by the Serpent,

the Dragon of fire, mercury potent.

~

Thus spirit fixed in cold temperature,

becomes Spirit active as Moon-Water;

the mixing bowl of Luna's crescent

stirs-up four elemental ingredients.

~

Mercury, volatile and reconciling,

activates the id of wild desiring;

Pan's animal-spirit, the Hermetic All,

the process of immanence from the fall.

~

Earth, water, air, and holy fire,

subconscious elements sublimating higher;

visceral instinct, emotional temperament,

rational intelligence, intuitional bent.

~

Then the four are joined as one,

by the power of the lifting Moon;

our Grail-Chalice silver shining

distils the quintessence of reddening.

~
Mother, Lover, and rejected Crone,
the fury of the Earth now scorned;
celestial Child leaves behind the nest,
Heaven flown in the Moon's chariot.
~
And so Spirit's immanent process ends,
salt water changed into holy Wine;
but one more celebration is required,
the marriage of Sol and Luna tied.
~

Here comes the Groom again!...

transcendent Sun of light and flames;

Grail-Stone of the golden dawn,

from unconscious ocean, the ever Born.
